14th SPNE in Athens
From 05/09/2018 to 05/09/2018EU-Track attended the 14th Scientix Projects' Networking Event: "Research into the classroom" presenting our work with students "Research-based Learning and Tinkering to improve student engagement and understanding".
The event, co-organised by Scientix, GFOSS –Open Technologies Alliance, Jet Propulsion Theatre, EDU-ARCTIC and ERIS, brought together project and organisation representatives activating in STEM education to discuss these concerns and explore best practices in bringing research into the classroom.
The aims were:
- To share successful experiences and initiatives of bringing research into the classroom.
- To discuss the importance of science outreach programmes in dispelling negative stereotypes associated with science and research.
- To define a set of recommendations of follow up actions on bridging research and classroom practice.
The results of the discussion will be published in a Scientix Observatory article co-authored by all participants.
